Hi there,
I’m Shelby Bartelt!
Over ten years in this industry and the thing that still gets me is pretty simple. Helping someone find the home where their life is going to happen is a privilege I do not take lightly.
I want you to actually understand your mortgage. Not a version of it, not the easy parts. All of it. Your rate, your payment, your options, and what makes sense for your life right now. There is no gold star for a low interest rate if your home does not work for you, your life, or your family. My job is to show you what is actually possible, and honestly that is my favorite part.
I live in Prairie Village just down the street from my office, where I also serve on city council. I have three kids, a dachshund, and a koi pond, so I know what it means to have a lot going on. I promise not to add to it.
I still believe in handwritten cards and a good thrift find, and yes, I am the lender with the good hair.
If you want someone who is going to pay attention to the details and actually advocate for you, I think we are going to get along really well.

The best companies achieve excellence in three areas:
People, Product, and Purpose
People
This seems like a no-brainer, but it’s actually the hardest part. Hiring and retaining the best people that represent your brand in a way you envision it is something that takes daily attention and focus from leadership. So how do great companies accomplish this? They give employees the opportunity and training to learn and grow professionally. They create teams that ensure employees are working with people they respect. (In other words, they hire for cultural fit.) And, most importantly, they inspire a vision for the company that every single employee believes in and works to achieve.
Product
In the best companies, all on board are united and working together to produce an excellent product or service, and they all consider it something of immense value. Whatever their role, employees at great companies strive for perfection in that role because they value their team, their customers, and they believe in their product.
Purpose
This is the most important part. Purpose is what separates good companies from great companies. The best companies have a clearly defined purpose, a reason for being, that everyone understands and considers crucial to the success of the company
At Fountain Mortgage, we put our purpose in the center of everything we do. And that purpose is simple: To educate and empower our clients to make the best possible financial decisions for their families.
For these reasons and 1,000 others, I’m proud to call myself a “Fountaineer.”
The best gift is giving back.
We’re humbled and grateful for the support of the Kansas City community that’s enabled our team to thrive. In gratitude, Fountain Mortgage is proud to make a $50 donation to a charity after every closing. We’ve donated more than $200,000 in total!
